"After a decade of working in the music industry and traveling throughout North America, I returned home to Cape Cod in 2000 and began training with Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming, a well known qigong master and author in Boston. I had researched qigong for several years prior, but the vague information from the teachers and books that I found left me with more questions than answers.

Dr. Yang's background as a physics professor and Ph.D in mechanical engineering and his Western scientific perspective in his qigong theory teaching appeals to me. Im interested in a modern understanding of the human energetic circulatory system, with supporting data from current research in the field. I am an editor of Dr. Yang's articles and more recently his book Qigong Meditation: Small Circulation. In 2007, I co-authored a book with a colleague who works in Boston using the techniques we practice in class to help improve the quality of life of people with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and cancer.

I work as a writer/producer/director of instructional martial arts and health DVDs and I volunteer as project manager of the 10-year training program at the nonprofit YMAA Retreat Center, located in Humbolt County, Northern CA.

"My future plans involve more work as an editor and author of books and articles about Qigong, Tai Chi, and related topics. I'm also involved with the development and operation of the nonprofit Qigong Public Research Foundation (QPRF) in Northern CA. The QPRF is working to gather an extensive library of Qigong and meditation documents which have only recently been made available to the public in China, Taiwan, and Tibet. These documents will be translated and compiled for publication in multiple languages. The foundation will also build a medical clinic, school, staff housing, and a scientific research facility to instruct the practice of traditional Chinese medicine and Qigong, and to study their efficacy at healing various types of illness as measured by Western scientific methods. In addition, the foundation intends to conduct experiments to determine the negative impact of man-made electromagnetic energy on the human body, and possible solutions.

Currently, I am available for private qigong instruction anywhere on Cape, and also in group sessions at Cape Cod Center for Body & Soul Day Spa in Dennisport, Sasha's Yoga & Pilates Plus in Dennis, and in private group classes with Valerie Twomey at Spirit Well in Chatham. I am a writer, musician and artist, interested in farming, cycling, hot yoga, the beach, and traveling the world with my wife, Ocean
